Peter Goers OAM is a self-described reformed social irritant who broadcasts the Evening Show on 891 ABC Radio across SA and into the Silver City of Broken Hill. Inexplicably this show has won ten media awards. He has written a column for the “Sunday Mail” for 25 years. He has worked in the theatre in SA and internationally since 1971 as director, actor, designer and playwright. He taught university drama for three years in Istanbul, Turkey and was Historian at the Performing Arts Collection of SA at the Adelaide Festival Centre. Goers has served as board member of Carclew, trustee of the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and currently is a board member of the Adelaide Festival and the Norwood Aged Cottage Homes. He is a passionate, persistent and occasionally annoying South Australian and loves the history of our state as proven by his almost weekly forays into regional SA. In 2013 he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the arts, radio and the community.
