Peter Templeton

Peter Templeton is a museum exhibition specialist who provides Interior and Graphic design services for local and specialist museums from concept to installation. Concepts are developed using plans, sketches, models and cost estimates as required for grant applications.

I supply museums with sketches and CAD drawings for volunteer built installations, co-ordinate volunteers during installation or do the installation myself, outsourcing specialist components such as, acrylic showcases, mannequins, etc. I was a set builder on 17 feature films, including Breaker Morant and Gallipoli before specialising in museum design.
I design all the graphics (interior or exterior) needed for the exhibition as well as logos, brochures, books and posters. The interpretive panels are printed in-house and acid free materials are printed for use in
showcases.

Scanned photographs are restored for display or copied on a 21 mega pixel DLSR camera which is also used for landscape backdrops and copying of rare or fragile artefacts. Oral history recordings in DLSR video are edited in-house.

From 1987 projects include migration and settlement, maritime and inland waterways, railways, heritage buildings and vessels, military, medical, transport, environmental, agriculture and blacksmithing, natural disasters, prominent people and children’s exhibitions.
