Fifty years ago the SA Parliament reformed the criminal law concerning abortion. In 2019 obstructions to women’s access to abortion services remain and parliament is again discussing reform. What’s happened since 1969? What are the current problems? Why will decriminalisation go only part way to ensure reproductive justice for women? Join the Centre of Democracy to hear Associate Professor Barbara Baird (Women’s Studies) and Associate Professor Catherine Kevin (History), Flinders University discuss this issue.
