Queer histories are contained in paper and cloth. As the paper of books, pamphlets, letters, and notes, and the cloth of clothing, artists’ canvases, flags and scraps, these ephemeral, intimate materials provide ways into queer lives and histories. How can material objects help us to recover lost and intimate histories? And how can these objects be collected, interpreted and preserved into the future?
In this fast-paced discussion, join Dr Madeleine Seys and 15 South Australian thinkers, collectors, performers, makers and writers as we unravel and read our queer material histories.
