South Australia’s History Festival is one of the State’s largest and most important annual community events. Taking place each May, the History Festival creates a platform for South Australians to explore, promote and engage with the unique and evolving history of our great state. The History Festival began in 2004 as SA History Week and became the month-long History Festival in 2011. In 2016 the Festival attracted over 360 different event organisers from all around South Australia. With the goal of connecting the public to the depth and diversity of the South Australian story, the History Trust encourages participants to share their own unique slice of history in a range of different styles and settings.
