The Opportunity

This temporary Registrar role is accountable to Head of Collections as part of the team responsible for the History Trust of SA’s contribution to the Cultural Institution Storage Facility (CISF) project. The temporary Registrar will contribute to the successful outcome of the project through collections management, data management and collections care.

Key components of the role

The Registrar will:

  • Contribute to the successful outcome of the CISF project through undertaking collections management tasks including object handling, collections documentation, data input and analysis.
  • Provide improved standards of collections care through enhancing the quality and consistency of collections and image data, and documentation of processes.
  • Apply collections management procedures including documentation and location controls.

Qualifications

Essential: Degree in History, Museum Studies or related field. 
Current Australian driver’s licence.

Special Conditions

Physical work will be required in handling the State History Collection. Some out of hours work may be required. Occasional weekend work may be required. Engagement in this role is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.

Remuneration
PO1: $68,478 – $83,594 per annum plus superannuation – increment relating to experience

Additional Note
This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) contract, starting asap for 6 months with possibility of extension.
